Overview

IQzone offers the first and only plug-and-play product in the market to integrate subscribers' mobile address books with the most popular social networks, while simultaneously hosting everything in the carrier's cloud. Retaining control of subscribers' contacts and social interaction helps ensure subscribers remain loyal to the carrier network. In fact, current studies demonstrate that our Social Address Book (SAB) can dramatically decrease subscriber churn, extending average customer lifespan by ~10%.

As a result, our SAB provides a tailor-made solution to the biggest problem faced by wireless carriers today.

Features

Address Book Augmentation

Upon synchronization with the cloud, our extensible platform augments each of the subscriber's contacts with pertinent content from multiple, aggregated sources–for instance, Facebook®/MySpace®/ Twitter® profile pictures and status updates. These improved, intelligent contacts are now available to any of the subscriber's devices, to power any number of enhanced user experiences.

As an example, IQzone works closely with handset OEMs to ensure necessary fields and APIs are added to mobile address books and call screens, so that firmware extensions and applications like PicDial are able to display pictures and status during the time of a call.

Contact Backup & Management

Inherent to the augmentation process is a cloud-based contact and credentials store, which protects the most precious components of subscribers' mobile experience – the address book and their social network connections – with no extra effort required. A branded management portal, accessible from any Web- or WAP-enabled device, allows subscribers to:

  • View address book contact details
  • Manually associate address book contacts withsocial network friends
  • Manage identity by specifying their own profile information, such as picture and status

Changes made via this interface will update all of a subscriber's devices accurately and instantaneously.

LiveSharing

Unique to IQzone's SAB, LiveSharing leverages the concept of a subscriber's profile (‘My Profile’ in the above-mentioned management portal) to achieve effortless dissemination of contact information. Any time a subscriber changes profile information, whether defined directly in the SAB or imported from social networks, LiveSharing instantaneously updates the devices and address books of that subscriber's in-network friends.

For example, if subscriber "John" originally chooses to import a profile picture from Facebook, then subsequently decides to change that picture by using a mobile phone camera, John's friend Jane will automatically see that new picture, with no effort required. This can apply to any contact information imaginable, from mobile phone numbers to GPS coordinates.

Proprietary Matching Algorithms

IQzone employs the most mature, robust matching infrastructure in the world, to ensure subscribers' contacts are accurately augmented. For example, proprietary algorithms and confidence engines automatically match nicknames in the address book (‘J-boy’) to real names on social networks (‘John Q. Public’). In the rare case our algorithms cannot automatically match a contact, users can do so manually from the management portal mentioned above, or device-specific interfaces may be implemented, leveraging our straightforward association API.

Flexible Architecture

The SAB boasts a decoupled, modular, cloud architecture, enabling IQzone to customize features and APIs to the exact specifications of the carrier. This flexibility, combined with our excellent API documentation and extensive integration expertise, ensures a solution can be deployed in uncommonly rapid fashion.

Data Traffic Reduction

By consolidating communication and processing in the cloud, the SAB helps mitigate the growth of bandwidth consumption on carrier networks as a result of social networking activity. For instance, several different data sources might need to be queried in order to determine a contact's most recent status update, but only one response need be delivered to an interested handset client.
